TV comedians to perform at Stoke's Regent Theatre

The Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club is treating Stoke-on-Trent's Regent Theatre to some of the UK's finest comedians.

TV comic Rob Rouse will headline the much-anticipated Hanley night with support from opener Gary Delaney and Bethany Black on Saturday (March 17).

Widely recognised for his hyperactive style, top of the bill act Rob has presented The Friday Night Project and made TV appearances on 8 out of 10 Cats and Celebrity Juice.

He said: “Every day I wake up and realise my job isn't really a job; it's essentially doing and saying all the stuff at school that would have got me bollocked!

“I'm looking forward to it of course! It sounds very grand.

“I'm gigging at the moment; writing and gearing up for a big National tour in the Autumn.”

The outrageously dangerous Gary Delaney has worked his way to supposedly become “The man Jimmy Carr wants to be”. His cringeworthy hit-rate one liners have propelled his popularity in recent years.

Said Delaney: “Never done there before, but I've heard it's a really nice crowd so I'm looking forward to it.

I love dodgy jokes. I write jokes of all types but these are invariably the ones that get the biggest laughs so they are the ones that stay in my set.”

Bethany Black's controversial dark humour has built a cult following for her brand of confessional comedy. She is often described as “Britain's only goth, lesbian, transsexual comedian.

Laugh Out Loud Comedy producer Damion Larkin said: “Once again we bring you two comics off the telly in one night! Ask around, anyone who’s been will tell you it’s a top notch night and the 17th March will be absolutely cracking!”

Damion has been an MC for eight years and has worked with the Regent Theatre since 2010.

“I can honestly say, hand on heart, every night for the last two years has been cracking and the audience always have a right laugh.

“The nature of live comedy means you never know what's going to happen. Having said that, our opening act is regarded as one of the best headliners in the country, and Rob Rouse is absolutely top class and never fails to make people howl with laughter.”

Laugh Out Loud Comedy Clubs have hosted some of the UK's top comedians including Jason Manford, John Bishop, Alan Carr and Sarah Milican.
