Chaddabox talks to stand-up comedian Adam Vincent

Courtesy of Adam Vincent, comedian Adam Vincent
Hilarious stand-up comic, Adam Vincent, was originally on the bill at The Regent Theatre on Saturday 17 March. After a change of events, the 35-year-old will not be performing at the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club.

Nevertheless, here is a little insight into the world of one of Australia's finest comedians prior to the unfortunate switch around.

Q: Have you performed at The Regent Theatre before?
A: I'm at the Regent 5 nights a week. That's what I tell myself on the way to the pub gigs.

Q: How do you find theatre gigs?
A: Theatre gigs are fun yet tinged with sadness because tomorrow night you're probably playing above a toilet.

Q: Are you looking forward to it?
A: I wrote the date on my son's forehead.

Q: What do you know about the other performers Rob Rouse and Gary Delaney?
A: I've never met them but I know that they're both funny.

Q: What are you doing at the moment?
A: Eating toast, feeding my son and responding.

Q: Touring?
A: In my head I'm touring all the time.

Q: Gigs here and there?
A: Yes, gigs here and there, although here is a lot easier to get to than there. Sometimes, there, is ages away.

Q: What do you enjoy most about doing what you love?
A: Getting paid. Otherwise it's just a hobby that's gotten way out of hand.

Q: Have you ever regretted saying a joke?
A: Yes, several. But to tell you would mean another round of regret.

Q: What are your audience reactions generally like?
A: Most reactions involve a delicate balance between silence and laughter.

Q: Anything unusual?
A: I once did a gig in front of farm animals. Not my audience.

Q: What have you got planned for the future?
A: Lunch.

Q: What do you feel has been the highlight of your career?
A: Longevity.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to mention?
A: I always forget to mention my website; www.adamvincent.com. It cost me $200 and is rubbish, but it does connect to my eight fans.
