Possessing arguably the most beautiful voice in R&B this decade, Frank Ocean went solo from US hip hop group Odd Future in 2012 and moved on to incredible Grammy-nominated heights.

His debut album Channel Orange was refreshing to hear and just one highlight was the exquisitely delicate Thinkin Bout You.

The four-note violin intro sets a perfect sombre tone for his honestly loving and naïve curiosity which uses only a simple drum beat and echoed chords to accompany the main component – Ocean’s inspiring voice.

The double tracked chorus vocals coupled with his contrasting falsetto is spine-tingling, showing his outstandingly empathetic vocal variety.

The bridge reveals an important, unforgettable intimacy for Ocean. The truthfulness of his lyrics, alongside his quiet-mannered and subtle nature contribute wonderfully to the ambiguous sexual undertones.

Few songs can provide such comfort for any mood, yet Ocean manages to effortlessly keep you warm through tears of pain and joy.
