Jason Derulo thrilled at impressive UK album launch

Jason Derulo - Tattoos

Venue: Under the Bridge, London
Date: Sep 2, 2013

Jason Derulo launched his highly-anticipated third album, Tattoos, at the spectacular Under the Bridge last night (Sep 2).

Ahead of his forthcoming album release on September 23, the people in the grounds of Chelsea's Stamford Bridge prepared themselves - not for a deadline day signing - but for a night of free chart-clubbing Derulo tunes, free tattoos, and - for the lucky ones - a free bar.

The intimate London venue provided the ideal platform for the loved American singer to return after breaking his neck just last year.

The UK chart-topping 'In My Head' and US Billboard No.1 'Watcha Say' provided a comforting opening to a set which included fan favourites, new album tracks and exceptional solo dances.

Derulo is surely forever in debt to Imogen Heap for the sampling of her beautiful a capella 'Hide and Seek' which soared 'Watcha Say' to the top ten in 15 countries back in 2009.

On top of well-received tracks including 'It Girl' and 'Trumpets', the ticket-winning crowd were treated to impressively engaging interlude's from Derulo's talented backing dancers, who provided great highlights at times.

A live saxophonist welcomingly jazzed up the stage on two occasions before Derulo and his falsetto vocals pleased the crowd in the catchy 'Ridin' Solo'.

First single from the 2011 album Future History, 'Don't Wanna Go Home', went down a storm and perfectly readied the crowd for Tattoos' single's 'On the Other Side' and 'Talk Dirty'.

Smiles were frequent as the performers were clearly enjoying themselves on stage and the screaming girls were clearly enjoying the topless Derulo even more.

The exquisite projections on the back screen and above the stage brought a pleasant night of pop from the 23-year-old to an end.

A grateful Derulo was thankful to his UK fans and thankful for being given another chance after he thought his injury meant the end of his career, at the very least.

Upcoming single 'Talk Dirty' is to be released on September 16 and don't be surprised if Derulo bags his third UK No.1 single.
