EP Review: Emilio Pinchi – Live, Volume. 1

Emilio Pinchi - Live, Volume 1
Stoke of Genius:

Released: Independent, August, 2013

Emilio Pinchi's Live, Volume. 1 is a beautiful collection of three recorded tracks performed at Stoke-on-Trent's The Riff Factory.

Opener 'Fireworks' contains a pleasant riff and unique vocals from the Stoke-on-Trent singer/songwriter. His Jake Bugg-esque style serves him well and this track certainly engages enough to want to continue listening.

Emilio's spine-tingling vocals echo majestically during 'Invisible Man'. He builds up wonderfully to a powerful crescendo with the crashing down of the acoustic guitar. You become enclosed in the world of Pinchi as his grainy, effortless voice lulls you in.

Newton Faulkner is heard in the plucky guitar playing halfway during 'Paradise St.'. The catchy highlights of the entertaining EP include the infectious repeated lyrics 'you don't care...' and the fast-paced muted strumming. In the right atmosphere Emilio would certainly have had a clap-a-long with his guitar tapping.

A solid, albeit rather short, first live EP from an extremely promising young musician.
