Stoke City players praise Regent Theatre show

Stoke of Genius:

Stoke City football players enjoyed a performance of hit national musical Dirty Dancing at the Regent Theatre.

Club captain Ryan Shawcross and goalkeeper Asmir Begovic praised the evening show on Wednesday (March 13).

England International Ryan, who watched the show with his fiancée Kath, said: “We all had a really good time at the Regent Theatre, and the show, Dirty Dancing, really lived up to all of the hype surrounding it.

Everybody at the Regent Theatre appeared to have had a great night, and for me and my fiancé, it was no different."

The record-breaking stage adaptation of the iconic 1987 film has received much acclaim during its tour.

Bosnian number one Asmir, who attended with his wife Nicole, said: “It was really good fun. I’ve never been to a musical before, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I would definitely go again.

The show itself was absolutely fantastic. All of the guys in it were superb, and the production crew put together a really spectacular show.

We got looked after really well by all of the staff at the Regent Theatre, and my wife really had a great time too. We will definitely be going back in the future.”

The raunchy show runs at the Hanley venue until March 30.
