The Regent Theatre celebrate Spamalot with Pancake Day

The Marketing team promoted with a smile
Staff at the Regent Theatre in Hanley celebrated ‘Spamcake Day’ to help promote the forthcoming Monty Python show Spamalot.

Four members of the marketing team dressed in Spamalot costumes to give Pancake Day a different twist.

They handed out leaflets and informed people in the city centre about the show.

Emma Hart, 24, marketing and press officer, said: “We have Spamalot coming on February 27 and we wanted to do something fun for it.

“We decided, instead of Pancake Day, we would have Spamcake Day.”

Spamalot will run at The Regent Theatre from Monday February 27 until Saturday March 3.

Emma added: “We gave out goody bags and we have an offer for Spamalot.”

That offer included discounted tickets at £20 for Spamalot showings, excluding Monday evening and Wednesday matinee.

Resident Julie Parker, 47, said: “My son has special needs and I think Monty Python’s Spamalot will probably suit him.

“He will be 18 next month, but he’s got the mind of a child aged seven. I think this will be his sort of thing.

“I’m glad I was stopped because I wouldn’t have known the show was here otherwise.”

Monty Python’s Spamalot, by Eric Idle and John Du Prez, was awarded the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical. It has been seen by over a million people in the UK.

Assistant marketing manager, Victoria Power, 27, and marketing assistants Alison Hanlon and Richard Blakey, both 23, also dressed up for the promotion.
